Howell Mountain has always been a special place to grow Zinfandel but now, as Zin vines are replaced by the more profitable Cabernet vines, the volume of Howell Mtn. Zinfandel is much less.  That’s a shame given the amazing Zinfandel this lauded Napa appellation has produced over the last 100 years.  
Block Estate 930 is a limited production, 100% Zinfandel blend of Napa and Howell Mountain grapes.  Balanced, burly and sinewy, with components of black pepper, gravel, stone and iron.  Red and black-cherry fruit is rich and layered, with contrasts of leather, tannin and spicy oak.  Aerate or decant before drinking. Best 24 to 48 hours after opening.
